Human rights groups in South Florida are trying to stop the deportation of Haitians back to Haiti.
The deportations stopped after the January 12 Earthquake but they have silently resumed.
The Associated Press reports...
SIX civil and human rights groups have filed an emergency petition with the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights to stop the deportations to Haiti of convicted criminals that are scheduled to resume this month.
They are saying that deporting people to Haiti now is inhumane considering the current situation in Haiti.
We had an earthquake a year ago, we have cholera, and the political situation that is not so stale at the moment.
The human right groups filed a petition on Thursday with the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights to stop the deportations to Haiti.
QUESTION:

No, the US should not be deporting Haitians, now, or ever! As a US citizen I have so much shame and anger towards our government for not standing up for Haiti, before the earthquake, let alone now... it is deplorable that we even think about sending anyone back there! We have the obligation to help Haiti rebuild it's economy, structure and livelihood, especially after all of the s**t we (the US) have put it through. Haitians are strong people, but they shouldn't have to be this strong.... my sincerest heart felt apologies to all Haitians on behalf of the wrongs of the US government.

No, it is NOT right to deport Haitians to Haiti. Some of them have not lived 'in' Haiti at all or for much of their lives, and the government wants to deport them into terrible situations because of their background. That is stupid! Haiti needs a good leader to care about 'them' and the way they live. Haitians are wonderful people, we just see the 'survival' mode. Pa Jamn Bliye
