Are you all serious?
Haiti is a democratic country, 3rd world, but democratic nonetheless!
People in cuba have every right to com to america after escaping an oppressive, communist government!

Wow well I feel that Cubans do deserve the Wet Feet Dry Feet policy because they obviously come from a Communist country, all the other immigrants that come from other parts of the world, specially illegal risk their lives, but the push and pull factors are absolutley different from the Cubans

Thats bull, Yeah they claim to be democratic in hati. Not!!.
I just read a report where citizens of the pen wear killed for voicing their opinion on civil rights.
Over half the people incarserated have never seen the judge and havent been convicted so they may never get out. Every day love ones gathet in front of the prison in front of the capital of hati awaiting information just to see if their love ones are still alive, and every day they are turned away. Kids are forced to eat mud cakes to survive because of lack of food. Woman are being beheaded and no justice is brought to their death.
At least with cuba being communist their health care needs are paid for by government, but not the people of Hati. So tell me who deserve what.

HEALTH CARE: Thats the only good thing I'll say that Cuba is good at, by having the best Doctors and best medicine in the world....
AND FREE....
I dont know why, but we do desrve everything we have and we get....

If Cubans are getting this privilege because Cuba is under a communist system then Why cant people from China (a communism country as well) get wet foot/ dry foot also???

Simple.
Policy revenge.
Race disposal.
Embargo in Communist Cuba. No embargo in so-called Democratic Haiti.
Though it has African "influences" Cuba was colonized by the Spanish and maintained alot of its culture (Castro's family is from Galicia, Spain).
Haiti kicked Spanish and French arse and had the nerve to declare itself a sovereign black nation.
America is also resentful of the fact that Haiti contributed to their Western expansion.
The only way to deal with it is to stop asking why, to stop voting for Republicans (you Floridians) and to mobilize yourselves like the Cubans do.

You are more wrong than you know.
Cuba has more than mere African "influences".We ARE African, we are the Yoruba of Nigeria, and we honor those roots in the same manner that we honor our Gallic ones. The fact that the Spaniard brought the Yoruba to Cuba as slaves bares does not mean weare not, for all intents and purposes, of black desent.
As a Cuban, I am thankful for Wet foot/Dryfoot, and I am here to tell you that a arge percentage of us in the US join in solidarity w/ our Haitian brothers and sisters in seeking that for them as well. The reason Haiti does not get that goes beyond black sensibilities, as you have tried to state.
Unfortunantly, Cuba is a communist nation.
Our people are governed by one of the worst dictators in human history.
To flee and defect from that in many cases, has been our only hope. Often in the very same Florida Straits where our Haitian brothers risk their lives as well. Given Haiti's history and it's economic situation, I am a firm believer that they too should have Wet foot/Dry foot rights.
I guess my primariy point here is to ask you to understand that the situation isn't born out of Haiti's sovereignity (which is to be applauded, we cubans wanta sovereign land too), but because of the rulers of our nations.
If Haiti delared itself communist (and I am not saying it should, communism is NEVER good), you'd see Haitans granted the same policy.
Please knowwe are on the same side here.

You can't compare to the mistreatment of the hatian nation, many times government stands bias on the wet foot dry foot policy, even more so when bush entered the office.
Check the stat mis cubanita or whatever more cubans are allowed that hatians bet. I'm quite shure.

That fact that I am "mis cubanita or whatever" doesn't exempt me from sympathizing and empathizing w/ Haiti and its people.
It's not about checking statistics.
Obviously Cubans are granted special treatment because of the nature of its government (communist).
I was not downplaying Haiti's government or its people's suffering.
I was merely explaining why Cuba was granted special status.
If you'd only read my posts a little more closely, you'd note I'm not in opposition to Hatians being granted Wet Foot/Dry Foot. As I stated earlier, we are on the same side here. I wish Haitians were granted Wet Foot/Dry Foot as well. Shame you can't see it because you're too focused on me not being Haitian.
Happy 2010. May the new year bring you peace.
And with that peace, may understanding come. We don't all have to share the same ethnic makeup to feel for one another, or to share the same joys and concerns.

Here is my opinion, regardless to whateva nationality you are it dosen't matter.
Howevewr cuba is a communistic country so health care is paid for by the government.
In Haiti citizens dosen't get that option.
So in all I feel that Haitians should receive the wet foot policy before anyone.

I do not like that policy it is unfair to all other immigrants.
In the 70's possiblity O K but not now. Most of the people dry footing are not in danger.
They just want a free ride. I am a native floridian, out of native Americans.
This is wrong.
All the "help" that cubans get is not even avaible to us. And how about all the "bad" people that came here?
Like to 200 jailed and being released because Cuba will not take them back?
Like the one that shot the cop?
We should be like Mexico and Canadia.
NO help except for legal, correct, waited in line, immigrants.
No fellons.
Yep that will work. Tired of all the crap. And paying for it.

Why do you want to come in here?
This place steps on it s citizens as much as Haiti does. I am fighging the city of phoenix about my yard--some neighbor wit 'rights' who likes his yard a certaoin way and dislikes the way mine is, calls the city every year, and the city guy is different every year. My house and yard are small, and i keep trying to own them.
love, kath

I feel as though if this is the type of policy set up for the cubans, why can't this same type of policy be made for haitian and s other immagrints?
What makes the cubans diffrent from everyone eles?

I would agree..they should be treated as equals.
The Cubans should no longer be allowed into the United States by other than legal immigration as if they were coming from Europe, Asia, not Mexico.

I agree it shold be set forth for any nationality that is in search of a better life and human treatment.
